Section 217 Of Bns Provides The Punishment For Providing False Information To A Public Servant With The Intention That He Will Use His Lawful Power To Cause Harm To Any Other Person. If Any Person Provides The False Information Then He Will Be Punished With Imprisonment, Which May Extend To One Year Or A Fine In The Amount Of Ten Thousand Rupees Or Both.
Section 221 States That If Anyone Obstructs The Public Servant Voluntarily In Discharging His Public Functions Shall Be Punished With Imprisonment For Three Months, Or With Fine Which May Extend To Two Thousand And Five Hundred Rupees Or Both.
Section 227 Talks About Giving False Evidence. It States That If Anyone Is Bound By Law Or On Oath To State The Truth, Make Any False Statement. The Person Making The False Statement Has Reason To Believe Or Knowledge That The Statement Is Not True Or False Then He Will Be Punished With Imprisonment Upto Three Years Or A Fine Of Upto Five Thousand Rupees. If The Person Gives The False Evidence In Any Stage Of Judicial Proceeding Then He Will Be Punished With Imprisonment Upto Seven Years And A Fine Of Ten Thousand Rupees.
Section 228 Talks About Fabricating False Evidence. It States That If Any Person Makes A False Entry In Any Book Or Record With The Intention To Use It As An Evidence In Judicial Proceeding And That May Cause A Person Who Is In Such Proceeding Is To Form An Opinion Upon That Evidence Will Be Punished With Imprisonment Upto Three Years Or A Fine Of Up to Five Thousand Rupees. If The Person Gives False Evidence In Any Stage Of The Judicial Process.
Section 231 States That If Any Person Gives Or Fabricates False Evidence With The Intention To Cause Any Person Convicted For An Offense Punishable With Imprisonment For Life, Or Imprisonment For A Term Of Seven Years Or Upwards Shall Be Punished With The Same Punishment As The Person Convicted.
Section 233 Of Bns Punished A Person For Using Fabricated Or False Evidence As True And Genuine Evidence. He Shall Be Punished As If He Gave Or Fabricated The False Evidence.
Section 248 Of Bns Punished A Person Who With An Intention To Cause Injury Institutes Any Criminal Proceeding By Making A False Charge Of Committing Any Offense. The Person Knows That There Is No Just Or Lawful Ground Of Such Charge Shall Be Punished With Imprisonment Upto Five Years, With Fine Upto Two Lakh Rupees, Or With Both. If The False Charge Is Made Of An Offense Punishable With Death, Life Imprisonment Or Imprisonment For Ten Years Or Upwards Then Such Person Will Be Liable For An Imprisonment Upto Ten Years And Fine.
